FLORA
Flora in Wilsons Promontory is spectacular, colourful and rich. Boasting a wide variety of plant species is is easy to see why so many photographers and sightseers visit Wilsons Prom all year round.
A large amount of Orchids are found throughout the park in different varieties and colours.
Wilsons Prom also boasts it's own display of rare and natural species.
Below is a list of some of the flora you may come across in your time at Wilsons Prom:
Avicennia Marina Subsp- White Mangrove-A small shrub that grows up to 9m tall
Flower correa alba- a small shrub that grows up to 1.5m tall
Flower Correa Reflexa (Native Fuchia)- a shrub that grows to 1.2m tall
Orchid Anzybas Unguiculatus- small flower, grows to 4cm tall
Eucalyptus kitsoniana- A tree that grows anywhere from 6m tall to 8m tall
Tmesipteris parva-This small fern grows up to 10cm long
Coast Banksia- a tree that can grow anywhere from 6-15 m tall
Arachnorchis clavigera (plainlip spider)- a flowering plant that can grow up to 40cm tall
Diuris Orientis- an orchid that on an erect stem can grow up to 45cm tall
Drosera auriculata- a flowering plant that when branched can grow from 15-70 cm long
Corymbia Gummifera- a bark tree that grows upwards of 5m tall with flowering plants and fruits
Sambucus australasica- flowers and fruits as a shrub 2-4 m tall
Sea Nymph- A submerged upright plant that grows to be approx. 90cm
